Adult Swim Collection - Flying Lotus - Massage Situation

Steven Ellison aka Flying Lotus is an electronic and experimental artist from California. His music has been featured in many Adult Swim bumps, so a loyal watcher could easily recognize tunes in a quick browse through his library. "Massage Situation" is probably the most notable, though and was featured on the Baggage Room bump.

Drake - Club Paradise

From October's Very Own, the blog of Drake and his crew:

Dropping this for our boy Avery...this was his favorite shit during the recording process. 2 more songs coming tonight as well. ovoxo
Drake's slow, soulful songs are such a weakness for me.. <3

Frank Ocean - Strawberry Swing

This Coldplay cover off Christopher Breaux aka Frank Ocean's mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra is much better than the original in my opinion. His smooth voice just makes the song. The music video below was directed by MMCCV and has an appropriately nostalgic feel. Enjoy!

Adult Swim Collection - J Dilla - Nothing Like This

James Yancey aka Jay Dee/J Dilla was a Detroit native and musical prodigy. He started collecting vinyl at the age of 2 and learned to play almost a dozen instruments. In his extensive career, he worked with Busta Rhymes, Common, Madlib, De La Soul, The Roots, etc..basically everybody with any talent in hip-hop. He suffered from lupus and a rare blood disease and continued to perform in a wheelchair as his health declined, showing his true passion for his art. He passed away shortly after his 32nd birthday in 2006 but his legacy continues and will go on for years to come. "Nothing Like This" is one of my all-time favorite songs and I was so excited to hear it on Adult Swim years ago. I hope you enjoy it :D

Kid Cudi - Do It Alone

This is my ultimate self-medicate song. The vibe is awesome, but listen to it when you're fucked up, seriously.

Kid Cudi - Alive

This track is off  Kid Cudi's album Man on the Moon. On the surface, it seems to chronicle a transformation into a werewolf, but taken a step deeper can also symbolize a psychedelic trip. In any case, it's one of my favorites by Cudi. What do you think he means?

Trey Songz ft. Drake - Unusual

The infamous duo of Trey & Drake is at it again with one of their latest collaborations. It's been out for a bit but I heard it on the radio last night and remembered I wanted to share it :]

Wu-Tang Clan - Uzi (Pinky Ring)

New York's Wu-Tang Clan is easily one of the greatest, most influential groups to grace the hip-hop scene. Their music is boss and the members have branched out and moved on to countless other endeavors and been affiliated with everyone and their brother. "Uzi" is one of my favorite songs by them, released in 2001 on the album Iron Flag. Let me know what you think!

DJ Khaled - I'm On One (Chopped & Screwed)

This is an awesome chopped & screwed mix of "I'm On One" by DJ Khaled, Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne done by Kp'da Truth. If you like what you hear, show some love and check out the Facebook, all songs are accompanied by download links :D

Adult Swim Collection - Portformat ft. Bless1 - Knock Knock

Adult Swim has a lot of amazing, lesser known artists in their bumps and I want to share some of my favorites. I've been hearing this one for a long time and I could never find the track name until last week when it happened to be featured in a Youtube video and credited the artist, Portformat. He's a hip-hop producer living in Germany, but doesn't stop at hip-hop. He has other tracks dabbling in dubstep and other electronic music; this man has some serious talent. If you like "Knock Knock", I'd suggest heading over to his Facebook page and checking him out, you won't be disappointed.
