Drake - Trust Issues

This track is either sort of a spinoff or a sample from Drake's hook on DJ Khaled's "I'm On One". I'm really feelin it..the slowed down flow brings more depth to a seemingly cocky verse. Justin Bieber just did a cover of it as well which doesn't have the same feel and has the cuss words taken out (lame) but it's alright. I'll put it at the bottom, feel free to comment on which version you like better.

Aaliyah - One In A Million

This song is off Aaliyah's 1996 album of the same name. It was written and produced by Missy Elliot and Timbaland, who worked with her throughout her career.

Aaliyah - Come Back In One Piece

This collaboration with DMX was the third single released from the soundtrack to the martial arts film Romeo Must Die, which starred Aaliyah. It was released in 2000 and also featured Jet Li and DMX.

Aaliyah - If Your Girl Only Knew

Aaliyah has always been one of my favorite R&B singers; her voice is beautiful and she has such prowess. Today is the 10th anniversary of her tragic death, so I'll be posting some of my favorites to celebrate the life and musical career of this amazing songstress. RIP Aaliyah <3

4-IZE ft Senor Kaos - Classic Example

Chicago-born 4-IZE moved to Atlanta and began rapping in 1999 with Loudmouth Hooligans, a group that included Ludacris. He has since been featured on a couple of Luda's albums but has remained somewhat underground. This collaboration with Senor Kaos is off his Illuminated Animals mixtape and is a sensory masterpiece. Not only is the song sick, but the music video is artistic and creative as opposed to the average rap video. Seriously, let me know what you think.

Big Sean - Dance (Ass)

Big Sean has been building a lot of buzz lately and I think it's safe to say hes on the fast track to blowing up. His flow isn't bad and he's got some good connections. I heard this song on the radio today and I love it!! Unfortunately, the lyrics are pretty lackluster; it's the same generic vapid shit that's all over the radio. The beat,  hook, and MC Hammer sample completely make up for it though. The fact that he's fine as hell doesn't hurt either..

Drake - Paris Morton Music

After recording 'Aston Martin Music' with Rick Ross, Drake felt the need to add on to his verse and record another version of the song. He credits his inspiration for this song to model Paris Morton. I like this version much better, especially with the piano intro..what do you think? Also, here is Paris Morton, cuz I'd never heard of her either:

Okay, that's legit. I'd write a song about her too

DMX ft. Sisqo - What These Bitches Want

Oh my gosh, this song was the shit way back when..I wonder what DMX and Sisqo are up to these days? Actually, DMX's crazy ass is probably in jail. That man's criminal record is longer than the Great Wall of China. But what is Sisqo up to? Anyone know?

Asher Roth - I Love College

Summer is pretty much over, so this goes out to everyone starting or returning to college this/next month. Try not to shame your family too much.

J. Cole ft. Trey Songz - Can't Get Enough

J. Cole hails from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He's been rapping since he was young and opted to attend St. John's University in New York to increase his chances of getting signed. He graduated magna cum laude in 2007 and started working on mixtapes immediately. He's pretty fresh on the scene, with his debut album slated to release on September 27th of this year. This collaboration with Trey Songz will probably be one of the first singles.

Mambo Sauce - Welcome to DC

Mambo Sauce is a go-go band based, of course, out of Washington D.C. They get their name from the delicious mambo/mumbo sauce found at Chinese carry-outs. This song got a lot of play back in 2007 on WPGC and even made its way onto the hip-hop Billboard charts, which is pretty rare for go-go.

Disclaimer: If you're not from the DMV or just don't like go-go, that's fine, but don't hate. Just move along..

Trina - Da Baddest Bitch

Sorry Nicki..you're cool and all but you can't hold a candle to this woman.. Trina is one of hip-hop's original bad bitches! Love this woman!!

Will Smith - Summertime

Summer is coming to a close so this is pretty late, but whatevs. Enjoy whatever is left of your summer while you can!

Tupac ft Nas - Thugz Mansion (Acoustic)

Tupac one was of the greatest rappers of recent times, no contest. A lot of his songs had true meaning, not just hyping himself. Stripping a song seems to give it more soul, as apparent in this acoustic version, which adds a level of real emotion to the track.

Drake ft. Lil Wayne - Miss Me

A year ago today, I lost a friend of  mine. This song was blowing up on the radio, and it always seemed to come on at the right time.. RIP Chris, I love you <3

Gucci Mane - Danger's Not a Stranger (Diplo Remix)

Philadelphia DJ Diplo put his own spin on Gucci Mane's track, originally performed with DJ Drama. I think he made this song 100 times better. I'm not even going to post the original; it would be an insult to this amazing remix.

Ghostface Killah - Cherchez La Ghost

Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah's second album, Supreme Clientele, features this 2000 classic. He collaborated with fellow Wu-Tang member U-God and singer Goldie on this track. It's one of my all-time favorite hip-hop songs, so I had to share. Enjoy!

Drake - Dreams Money Can Buy

This song was released recently to tide us over until Take Care, and it's so melodic and soulful, I'm in love with it. The hook and part of the beat are sampled from British artist Jai Paul's "BTSTU", which I also really love and will include and the bottom. Which do you like better?

Clipse ft. Pharell - Grindin

Clipse, consisting of Malice and Pusha T, hails from Virginia Beach, Virginia and is known for their work with The Neptunes. This is hands down the most popular Clipse song..seriously, who DIDN'T make this infectious beat on their desk back in high school? Listen and nostalgia with me :]
