Person L is an American indie rock band who covered 'The Seed 2.0', originally by The Roots, on the compilation album Punk Goes Crunk. 'The Seed 2.0' is hands down my favorite song by The Roots, so I was so psyched to find this gem. Let me know what you think! The original is at the bottom of the post too, of course. :)

Looking at Colin Munroe, you'd never guess this hipster-looking kid would have such swag, but this Canada native's flow is both soulful and infectious. He's done some awesome collaborations with Wale and Drake, and this song is a response to Kanye's 'Flashing Lights'. Check out his awesome music video after the jump..I promise you'll have a new favorite :]
Gappy Ranks - English Money
Gappy Ranks is a half-Jamacain, half-Dominican dancehall artist from the United Kingdom. I don't know much about him and I haven't heard much of his other music, but I really love this song, hope you like it too.
Ludacris - Grew Up a Screw Up
This is the second single off Luda's 2006 album Release Therapy, featuring Young Jeezy. The chorus is sampled from Biggie's verse on 'Runnin' by Tupac. This song is mostly about how Ludacris grew up in a bad neighborhood and knew he had to to something meaningful with his life to be successful.
Trey Songz - Put It In The Air
This is a new one from Trey. It's not as sensual/soulful as some of his other songs, but I still like it. Towards the beginning of his song, the way he sings kinda sounds like T-Pain in 'Buy You A Drank' too..I don't know if that's a ripoff or intentional. Either way, this song is pretty hot, enjoy :]
Aaliyah - When Doves Cry
This is Aaliyah's cover of the famous song, 'When Doves Cry', originally recorded by Prince in 1984. I think her version is absolutely beautiful..she had an amazing voice and she adds a lot of soul to this song. Also, I'll put the original at the bottom. Which one do you like better?
iSQUARE - Hey Sexy Lady
iSQUARE is another one of Diddy's Making the Band projects..this is their debut single and it's hot as hell, but well see if they can keep up the momentum or if they'll become another Danity Kane. Also, dubstep artist Skrillex did an EPIC remix of this, which I'll put at the bottom. Check it out!

In celebration of the end of the NFL lockout, here is a remake of Wiz Khalifa's 'Black and Yellow', performed by Baltimore group A.N.T. Entertainment. Here's hoping we come outta this season with a ring..
Timbaland ft Drake - Say Something
This is one of my favorite songs with Drake...I seriously love it. It's off Timbaland's album Shock Value II and it was only released digitally. It got a bit of radio time but I think it's kinda underrated..man, Drake's chorus is so sexy!!
LL Cool J - Doin It (Unarmed Remix)
This throwback is circa 1996 from LL's album Mr. Smith. The beat is taken from a sample of 'My Jamaican Guy' by Grace Jones, and the "Go Brooklyn" hook from 'Top Billin' by Audio Two. This song also features LeShaun, who was not in the music video. This is a pretty good remix of my favorite LL Cool J, let me know what you think!

This was the debut single from Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony, featuring Shatasha Williams on the chorus, and it's my personal favorite by the group. Also, if you played True Crime: Streets of LA, then you remember this jam :D
Kanye West ft. Jay-Z - Otis
This song is blowin up right now, and for good reason. It samples the legend Otis Redding's "Try A Little Tenderness", giving it a somewhat vintage feel while Kanye and Jigga stay true to their flows. I think this is going to be one of this summer's hottest jams..check it out!

Royce Da 5'9 is a Detroit rapper that almost made it big thanks to collaborations with Eminem, but barely flies under the radar. This is one of his newest songs and it's pretty hot right now. It features Travis Barker, the drummer from Blink 182. A lot of hip-hop artists have been integrating rock influences and electric guitar into the tracks, and although the riffs are pretty basic, it's still awesome. Enjoy!

This is the first single off Frank Ocean's latest mixtape, Nostalgia,Ultra. This 23 year old New Orleans native is still pretty new to the scene, but I have a feeling he's going to blow up. His flow is really smooth, and his lyrics are refreshingly deep. I really admire this kid.

I think it's only fitting to feature Ja Rule after his recent incarceration for possession of an unregistered firearm. This single was released in 2000 off the album Rule 3:36, and it features Christina Milian. It was pretty hot back in the day, but Ja Rule kinda fell off the radar after like 2005 after he left Def Jam, Apparently he's been working on some new stuff, but his style is too old though..maybe he'll pick up a new flow in prison?

This song is blowing up right now and I'm sure you've already heard at least the original. I've heard a few remixes of it but this one is by far my favorite..Busta is okay but he doesn't really fit on this track..Fabolous is pretty good..but Trey is FIRE!! You should have seen my face the first time I heard this remix in the car, my jaw completely dropped..if you haven't heard this song then you gotta hear this shit!

The original to this song is pretty good, but I think this version is so sexy..chopped and screwed r&b is amazing in my opinion. I'll probably post a good amount of it in the future.

This song is off West's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It is seriously my summer anthem; this song is literally a tsunami of swagger.
Lil Kim - In The Air Tonite
I don't give a damn what Nicki says...Kim was a beast and she always will be. This song is a remix of Phil Collin's classic, "In The Air Tonight". It was released in 2001 on the album Urban Renewal, a Phil Collins tribute album produced by several R&B and hip-hop artists.

So yeah, this is just another music blog, mostly hip-hop, from old school to current hits; I don't discriminate. Feel free to give your commentary, criticism, or suggestions!
This is one of my personal favorite old school hip-hop tracks, by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You). It was released in 1992 and was inspired by the loss of their close friend. This song also features a sample from Tom Scott's song, 'Today', which is a jazz cover of Jefferson Airplane's 'Today'. Enjoy!
